COMMERCIAL What happens to the proceeds from this fun raiser? Our Division which consist of twelve Clubs use the funds to provide service to the communities of Southern Illinois. The majority of the profits will go toward funding three special days for the physically and mentally challenged of the area. A summer day of fun at Rend Lake, a Christmas Party with food and fun, and a day of arts and crafts in the fall co-sponsored by the Rend Lake Conservancy District and the US Army Corp of Engineers are held annually. Kiwanis targets children in their service effort. Young Children: Priority One is a world wide service project of Kiwanis International. It serves the needs of kids from before birth to the age of five years. The Spastic Paralysis Research Foundation was started by Kiwanis several years ago and continues to help young kids with spinal birth defects. Other needs are provided by the individual Kiwanis Clubs in their respective towns and areas. Among them are Special Olympics, nursing home visitations, safety and health issues for young children, youth sports leagues, school projects, and the list goes on and on. By supporting the Fun Day Bike Ride you are supporting all of these events and needy people.
