KIWANISKiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. There are over 230,000 Kiwanis members in over 80 nations around the world. If you add in our service leadership programs for youth organizations such as Key Club for high school kids, Circle K Clubs for college kids, and Builders Clubs for middle school kids, you can add another 300,000 members to our roles. The nine Kiwanis Clubs of Division 33 in Southern Illinois who organize the Fun Day Bike Ride are a small part of this global organization, but an important part. Each club has it's own unique projects which make their communities a better place to live and work, but Division 33 joins together in two projects which make a difference all across Southern Illinois. We have two days of fun and food for some of the special people in our communities. Every summer in July we host some 800 guests in a day of outdoor fun on Rend Lake at our Summer Fun Day event. People of all ages with disabilities are welcomed to come out and enjoy free food, games, music, dancing, boat rides, clowns, and more at beautiful Rend Lake. The day long event is free of charge. In December we host a free Christmas dinner for those same challenged people. We serve turkey with all the trimmings to over 600 guests. A visit and picture with Santa is also included. Your entry fee from this Fun Day Bike Ride is used to help fund these two special events and make some special people feel a little love and caring for at least two days of the year. You help us make a difference. Thank you.
